EMS utilizes state of the art technology including Microsoft's Exchange 2003, Terminal Services 2003, and BES server all running on Microsoft 2003 Platform. We also use a Comdial FX phone system with our voicemail and a T1 (PRI) phone line. We have built a solid foundation for the future growth of our organization.

Inside Sales people are equipped with Intel based, multimedia computers running the latest Windows operating system and a wide range of software tools including, Microsoft Office and SalesLogix® Customer Relationship Management software. We access our factories' online services through our high speed internet connection.

Outside Sales people are equipped with Blackberry 7130e cellular phones with Broadband connectivity, laptop computers and home fax machines. The computers are primarily used for Customer Relationship Management software, email, scheduling, reporting and for running product selection software provided to us by our manufacturers. Home offices are equipped with High Speed Internet connections and connected to the office using a Remote Desktop VPN connection.

In 1999 we established our internet website at http://www.emsorl.com/ and have recently revamped it to give it improved functionality. Customers can use this site as an information base to locate everything from products in our Online Warehouse, to additional information about a manufacturer. EMS employees can use this site as a portal with the necessary tools they need throughout the day no matter what computers they may be on or what state. Our site is constantly being updated to make the site easier to use, provide more information and to provide additional services to our customers. The explosive growth of the internet has opened new doors of communication with our customers and made computer literacy a requirement.

In 2005 we develped our own web based software "Realtime" to manage our warehouse inventory. The software enables us to provide access to our distributors and manufacturers as well as connecting all of the departments within our organization. We are now able to view real time inventory, sales, pricing, updates, shipments and customized reports when we need them.
EMS started working with the quality process in 1992. Over the years we have evolved through several stages and in August 2000 we applied for and achieved our ISO 9002 certification. EMS continues to improve its Sales System and today has the ability to track and monitor Open Opportunities, Key/Target account activities electronically using SalesLogix®.

EMS offers a full range of training for our distributor partners. We offer lunch and learn, evening training sessions and full day classes in our training facility.

More than 600 distributor personnel and have attended "EMS Hoffman 101" since its' inception in February 1993. Hoffman 201 and Woodhead 101 were introduced in 1995. New classes are being considered to debut in the near future.

End User / Specifier

We offer a variety of "EMS U" classes for end-users and specifiers. These classes can be conducted in our facility or at the customer's location.

EMS Personnel
EMS' guideline for training is a minimum of $1,500 per person annually. Since 1995 our people have averaged over $2,400 per person annually.
We have a corporate structure and compensation system that highly encourages and rewards personal growth, effectiveness, empowerment and individual initiative. We are committed to filling each of our positions with people who can thrive in this environment.

In 1996 we instituted a new planning process which focuses our efforts squarely on incremental business. Since then the process has evolved to become better integrated into our Customer Relationship Management software. The net result is that we are increasing our rate of growth.

In 1998 we implemented a new Sales System and structure integral to our ISO 9002 processes. The goal is to greatly improve our allocation of resources on a high value incremental business.
